baby - Free Baby Shower Invitation

Create your own:

Computer made

With the Use of graphics program found in your computer, simply make a design for a baby shower invitation then print it out onto card or board stock. With this option, you can send the invitation in an envelope or send without an envelope similar to a postcard. Be sure that your invitation will contain all the necessary details such as date, place, time, theme, who is it for, and the RSVP number. There are a lot of websites offering free invitations that can be printed.

Velum Overlay

One sweet but very simple way of making a baby shower invitation is by using a velum overlay. You can buy a paper style that attracts you; buy this along with a coordinating ribbon at your favorite craft or scrap-booking store. Buy too, a few pieces of velum. Working on the computer, write down any wording that you would want to appear on your invitation then have it printed unto the velum. At the top or the front of a craft paper, fasten the velum. The result is a cool and delightful invitation that was also fun to do.

baby - Selecting A Proper Baby Crib Mattress Pad

Your baby's crib mattress pad is one of the most important pieces you can buy. It doesn't pay to skimp on this pad, because it will directly affect your baby's comfort and whether they get a good sleep. And, we all know that if your baby sleeps, you sleep.

There are all types of designs and fabrics that can be used in your baby's crib Below are a few important things to consider when looking for a baby crib mattress pad.

Size and fit are the first things you should look at. Remember to have the exact measurements needed so that your baby's mattress will fit snugly and securely. I always take measurements of the interior of the baby crib. I don't want the mattress to scrunch up and not fit flat in the baby crib.

Another important thing to consider is the type of fabric the baby mattress is made out of. You want a fabric that is highly absorbent yet the outer surface that is closest to your baby's skin feels dry. Some of the higher priced fabrics will wick away wetness yet keep your baby dry.

You also want something that can be laundered a lot. It is best to have a fabric that can be easily thrown the washer. The better fabrics will allow you to wash them repeatedly and still look and feel good to your baby.

I prefer not to use plastic mattresses or mattress pads. They are hot and don't absorb liquid so it will stay on top and make your baby feel very uncomfortable. Also, just by there nature, they will be very sticky and uncomfortable to your baby. Stay away from these.

I tend to use an absorbent plastic sheet, which has plastic on the bottom and fabric on the top below the mattress pad, so that my baby crib is not ruined.

I wash my baby crib mattress pad almost every day in my washing machine. Because I wash daily, I have a few mattress pads and an extra mattress. I like to keep them smelling fresh both for my baby and me. I then throw them into the dryer and dry to not quite dry and let it air dry the rest of the way.

This way my baby is always as comfortable as I can make them. And, a happy baby still will probably keep you up during the night, but a clean dry mattress will go a long way into helping you and your baby get a good's night rest.
